TELECHLOR - Water Directive Framework Metrics
Project Description
The aim of this project is to provide DCE / DCSMM stakeholders for metropolitan waters with water quality metrics for the "Eutrophication" descriptor based on the chlorophyll-a parameter. Eutrophication is the excessive richness of nutrients in a lake or other body of water, frequently due to run-off from the land, which causes a dense growth of plant life, containing chlorophyll. The supply of ancillary parameters (non-algal suspended matter, euphotic depth, surface temperature, solar irradiance ...) will also be realised and will better characterise the environment.
