Tracking marine litter within the Black Sea: On land and ocean
Project Description
ARGANS Limited aim to identify both floating rafts of marine litter and sites of legal and illegal consolidated waste on land, providing information on both source and output, combining both EO processors using Sentinel 2 data and a drift model to determine likely transport pathways after acquisition. Monitoring plastics from space and using a drift model is an important initiative, as plastics are considered as a crucial and complicated environmental problem in the Black Sea basin.
